Durnal (Belgium)

Family rating: excellent

Protected location (no cars, flat lower surface, surrounded by trees and quarry walls).  Very nice for small kids to play while others try there first rock climb.

The quarry is perfect for rock climbing initiation. Perfectly bolted routes. Separate bolted belay points on ground level for technique initiation.

Access: 1 minute walking from parking. Parking is only allowed on the parking lot across the railway.

Best season: All year. Thanks to it’s protected location, even a sunny day in winter can be very enjoyable.

Routes: About 60 routes, ranging from 3 to 6. Single pitches up to 35m. 10 quickdraws  will do the job.

HELMET COMPULSORY. Especially in spring there is risk of rock fall.
